North & Central America Conference

Registration begins on Sept. 20

Howdy Y’all!  On behalf of Dallas Chapter 13 and Fort Worth Chapter 38, it is our pleasure to invite you to come to Dallas/Fort Worth for Ikebana International’s 18th North & Central American Conference, which will take place October 27 – 31, 2019.  The venue is The Sheraton in downtown Dallas, right in the heart of the Arts District!!

The theme and goal of the 18th NCARC is to “GROW Ikebana.”

Our featured guest ikebana artist is Headmaster Designate Mrs. Senko Ikenobo, who will exhibit a special arrangement and present a demonstration.  Professor Manabu Noda will be present to conduct Ikenobo workshops.
We will also have guest ikebana artists representing the Sogetsu, Ohara and Ichiyo schools.  Each will present a demonstration and conduct workshops.

In addition to Ikebana workshops covering four schools of ikebana, you can participate in several craft workshops and tours in both Dallas and Fort Worth.  To top it all off, you can browse the artists’ market and select a container or other ikebana item or two that you must add to your collection (yes, we will have shipping services available.)

Following the ribbon cutting by our special Honorary Chairpeople, marking the opening of the Exhibition, we welcome you in grand Texas style – Dinner with Texas BBQ, country band, line dancing and more.  Don’t forget your jeans and boots!

You could not pick a better time to visit D/FW, as the weather at the end of October is spectacular!!  With a high of around 80° and a low around 60° you will think you are in Hawaii – OK, no ocean.  But, we do have some palm trees and there are several lakes with awesome beaches nearby and the Gulf is just down the road a piece!!

We have planned a very exciting week of ikebana activities and more.  You are welcome to come early or stay after to partake of the many fine restaurants, entertainment activities, arts and cultural events in and around Dallas and Fort Worth.

We want your experiences at the 18th North & Central American Regional Conference to be the seeds that plant ideas you take home to help GROW ikebana in your Chapter and your Community!!
See you in Dallas, October 27-31, 2019!

As you know it takes a lot of people and planning to make this a successful event.  It also takes money and we invite all Ikebana members and chapters alike to help defray the costs of the event.  Those who are interested in making a donation, placing an ad in the souvenir book, or interested in corporate sponsorship, can do so at this by clicking here.
