Demonstration Workshop Chapter Meeting
There was an enthusiastic group of members and guests attending this special program, Arranging Ikebana using baskets. A large collection of baskets for previous members was offered for sale. After watching a demonstration by Adrienne Wagner, Sogetsu and Polly Curran, Wafu Sensei, they created beautiful arrangements, both moribana and nagire. The workshop was a great help. A photography station was set up for members and guests to position their arrangements to practice photography as an art.
The workshop produced many beautiful arrangements, critiqued by Komon Sogetsu sensei Pat Bonarek.
Membership renewal and slate officers for the coming 2025-2026 season were introduced.

Exhibition Open to the Public
Sarasota Chapter #115 celebrated its 58th annual Ikebana Exhibition, IKEBANA IS ART, open to the public at the Sarasota Gulf Gate library on Saturday, April 19th. More than 150 members and guests visited this exhibition throughout the day. There were 29 beautiful arrangements created by our members from the school of Sogetsu, Ohara, and Wafu. The spring colors of purple, pink, and yellow complemented original Ikebana art with a variety of unique containers in various styles. We are especially appreciative of the public library for providing us with a warm and welcoming environment to share our love of this elegant cultural Japanese floral art.
