A year for the convention
Nobuko Usui, 13th World Convention Chairperson
This is a year of the Ikebana International 13th World Convention 2025.
During the preparation for the convention, COVID 19 was rampaging through the countries. Since then, normal life is slowly being restored.
I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation that the plans are moving forward smoothly to the 13th World Convention which will be held in this April.
Despite the current circumstances, 1,031members and friends from 36 countries and area have registered and shown their enthusiastic support for the Ikebana International 13th World Convention. It’s encouraging for us.
I announce the revised schedule and other information on the page of the Convention in Ikebana International Website. Please check the I.I. Website regularly. Also, several acknowledgements and Convention Notes will be post mailed to all registrants in the beginning of the February.
At the reception desk of the World Convention venue, all registrants will be given the Convention Handbook and Souvenir Program book which include information about all the details of the World Convention.
It is good to know that ikebana still draws people together as one of Japanese
traditional culture. Last December 16th, KADO (ikebana) was registered as intangible cultural properties by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japanese government.
For the future, ikebana holds great and wonderful possibilities.
I am very much looking forward to seeing many members from all over the world in Kyoto, April.
