St. Andrew Chapter #156

The nights are cool and even cold in the hilly areas in Jamaica in March. We don’t have Cherry trees in Jamaica but this is the time for our Puoi trees to be in bloom. They come in pink, white and yellow but the yellow is the most common.

Our chapter is enjoying a fantastic relationship with the wife of the new Japanese Ambassador to Jamaica, Ms. Tomoko Atsumi. She is a Sogetsu member and our Honorary Chairman. She has started an Instagram page to help promote Ikebana in Jamaica. On February 23 our Chapter did the arrangements for the Emperor’s birthday celebration at the Ambassador’s Residence.
