Demonstration Workshop Chapter Meeting
President Vicky Czaplewski led a brief chapter meeting. Ample time was allowed for our speaker and demonstrator, Ann Sagawa, to lead us in learning about and making our own kokedama.
It was a fun project and members enjoyed taking home a lovely finished product to enjoy in their own homes.

Chapter Meeting
Ikenobo, Sogetsu, Enshu
Each year we hold a wonderful, festive Holiday Season Luncheon. This year it was held at the Tacoma Golf & Country Club overlooking American Lake. It was also a celebration of our chapter’s 55th Anniversary.
Besides a delicious luncheon and fundraiser raffle we focused on our chapter’s history. President, Vicky Czaplewski, gave a review of 2025 and how we learned about Japanese culture through various programs, workshops and engaged the public with four Ikebana exhibitions.
Since our 50th Anniversary year (mostly cancelled due to COVID) a couple of members completed the Story Project where each member sent in a written page about their introduction to Ikebana and how it has influenced their life. Originally the stories were going to be published in a hard copy volume, but due to the changing times it was distributed in a digital format to everyone. It is a lovely keepsake and remembrance of members’ past and present. Sybil Hunter was honored as one of our founders back in 1970. Sybil is still an active and contributing member.
David Komeiji and his team from Portland, (Saga Goryu School), made five wonderful arrangements that demonstrated “Weaving the Path of Traditions into the New Year”.
