Demonstration
On September 19th, the first regular meeting of this term was grandly held at the Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers, welcoming Ms. Yamaguchi Kafu, instructor of Council of Ohara Professors.

The first work, an open-form arrangement, was based on a style learned from the fourth iemoto, Mr. Ohara Natsuki. Set to the music of “Look Up and Walk On,” it was arranged rhythmically, instantly melting the tension of the audience and enveloping the room in a joyful atmosphere.

The second work was a moribana arrangement learned from the founder, Mr. Ohara Unshin. It was described as easy to learn since both form and dimensions are fixed. It was luxuriously finished using five types of floral materials.

The third work was inspired by a traditional Japanese festival! After visiting Aomori and experiencing it firsthand. It is a masterpiece based on the Nebuta Festival. Sixty gourd and bells hung from an agave plant, their beautiful chime conveying the passionate spirit of the festival.

The fourth work was a Bunjin-style ikebana. Using a Heinrich vase with pomegranate and toshō, she introduced twenty principles of heikamoribana.

The fifth work, a Rinpa-style ikebana, was arranged rhythmically to the theme song of “Jo-netsu Tairiku.” A magnificent work featuring splendid celosia and chrysanthemums, with the base covered in epipremnum, was arranged in a flowing form. It was further adorned with gold mizuhiki and pine needles, adding an extra layer of luxury.

All five works were completed swiftly and energetically, accompanied by the teacher’s lively explanations. These charming pieces, characteristic of the captivating Yamaguchi sensei, adorned the stage and enchanted the 140 guests.
