Our chapter was invited to provide arrangements for the 2025 Thurston County Fair on two of their exhibition tables. Eight members volunteered to make arrangements representing their school. An information sheet highlighting the history of ikebana and contact information about our chapter and website was included.　People stopped by and were very complimentary when viewing the arrangements.

Demonstration　 Chapter Meeting　 Sogetsu
Following our scheduled September meeting, Akemi Sagawa of Seattle Chapter #19 presented basic information about ikebana arranging and principals of the Sogetsu School. Using Workbook 1& 2 she demonstrated Lesson 1 – Basic Upright Arrangement in an moribana container and Lesson 4 – Basic Upright Style Nageire in a tall container and the techniques used in each arrangement.
Akemi presented useful information, as several of our newer members are just starting out, and deciding which school best suits them. This was a good way to start our new season of ikebana programs for 2025-2026.
