Demonstration Chapter Meeting Open to the Public
Koryu Shoutoukai, Ohara, Sogetsu
The new season 2025-2026 started with demonstrations by three teachers from three different schools. It was such a nice start of the season. Ms. Cam Ly of Koryu Shoutoukai School, Mrs. Adrienne Doedel of Ohara School and Mrs. Leslie Dolin of Sogetsu School each presented an artistic composition representing the concept of their respective schools, using the same autumn material (dahlia). It is so interesting for our members to see the different ways of artistic expression of beauty composing an Ikebana arrangement. The members were motivated to practice more. Guests discovered a new world of artistic expression through flowers.
Mrs. Lynne Williams, teacher of Ohara School, talked about her wonderful experience at the Ikebana International 13th World Convention in Kyoto.
After the demonstrations, members and guests had a nice exchange of friendship over tea. They enjoyed this wonderful meeting so much.

Demonstration Chapter Meeting Open to the Public
Ikenobo Schoo
Raynald Donais, a teacher of Ikenobo gave a lecture on Ikebana history of Ikenobo with a mini demonstration of Tatebana Style with the material of autumn season. He explained Tatebana which is the origin of Ikebana general, the difference between Tatebana and Rikka Shinpoutai which is the modern style. The members were interested in the depth of the Ikebana history through the diversity of arrangement styles of Ikenobo. It is important for us to know of the origin and the history of Ikebana in order to accomplish our mission of Ikebana.
