Chapter Meeting

Two students from the Saga Goryu School presented the December program on Mizuhiki (the Japanese art form of knot-tying). They displayed several exquisite examples of the art, looking much like jewelry from the days of Egyptian Pharaohs. Each member was given a couple strands of the foiled paper filament, with which she/he tried bravely to emulate the “easy” knot being demonstrated by one of our patient leaders. Some members caught on quickly, some eventually, and some of us were totally baffled right up to the end! But it was fun trying to learn something new, and a great way to work up an appetite for our delicious luncheon of either ravioli or pork.
