Chapter Meeting & demonstration by Ohara School Headmaster

The members attended an Ikebana demonstration by Ohara School Headmaster, Mr. Hiroki Ohara who came to South India for the first time. He was invited by the Hyderabad Ohara Chapter and our members were there to meet him and as a show of support to Ikebana groups in the vicinity.
The Headmaster was briefed about the forming of the new prospective chapter, was happy to hear about it and congratulated the members. He signed in the visitor’s book and after a photograph session with the new chapter members, proceeded to do a wonderful demonstration.
The new chapter members were happy to meet and bond over the momentous occasion.

Exhibition by Ichiyo, Ohara, and Sogetsu members
The Ikebana International Rangareddy (Prospective) Chapter #270 was formed a few months ago. Members of this chapter are of the Ohara, Sogetsu & Ichiyo schools.
An eye-catching, beautiful Ikebana exhibition of indoor & garden arrangements was on display on 21st December 2024 at the President’s garden. Guests enjoyed the floral creations made at the first exhibition put together and to celebrate the start of the Prospective chapter.
From simple guava and ber branches to hibiscus flowers, lilies and orchids, a wide variety of material was used in the different styles that were showcased. Ms.Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo hospitals light the traditional lamp. She also happens to belong to the Rangareddy family, after whom the Rangareddy district is named. Art lovers, garden enthusiasts and many young children visited the exhibition.
The chapter members include President Ohryu Rekha Reddy, Adya Yajnik, Anitha Pasupuleti, Divya Pyreddy, Pavithra Naidu, Uma Mali and Sumalatha Chittineni. New Ikebana students, soon to join the chapter-Pujita Rao, UVL Ananda and VishnuPriya also displayed their arrangements at the show.
Members invited their guests and high tea followed the viewing. Many guests showed interest in joining I.I and we are pleased to be able to add to I.I membership.
