San Francisco Bay Area Chapter #31
The virtual event was held via facebook on January 21, 2022. After the opening remarks by our Chapter President Sharon Krawetz, Mrs. Kaori Higuchi, wife of the Deputy Consul General of Japan and Ms. Yumiko Ishii, Advisor for Cultural & Ed. Affairs from the Japanese Consulate of SF, we welcomed in the New Year, celebrating our chapter’s 62nd anniversary.
Our program featured the four demonstrations by the current and past presidents: Sharon Krawetz (Wafu), Mitsuko Maruyama (Ohara), Ron Brown (Sogetsu), and Thanh Nguyen (Wafu/Sogetsu). Exhibit arrangements were made by our chapter members: Carole Gray – Sogetsu, Sumi Metz-Aratami, Irene Jenkins- Aratami, Alka Bhargrava – Ichiyo, Sandra Hatcher – Ikenobo, Joseph Lam – Ikenobo, Setsuko Iwami – Ohara, Yasuko Naiki – Ohara, Robyn Torres – Sogetsu, Susan Okada – Wafu, and Keeth Souza-Courpet – Wafu.
