#4 Los Angeles Chapter (USA) Cultural Field Trip to the Shoya House
In lieu of an ikebana workshop program, we went on an educational cultural field trip to tour the newly erected Shoya House at The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens. The 350-year-old farmhouse was acquired from Japan, disassembled, and re-erected at The Huntington as a cultural exhibit-experience. The tour was led by the Gardens Cultural Curator and Program Director who shared many details about the House. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience how people of that stature-position lived long ago.
