Exhibition Open to the Public
The Chrysanthemum Show has been an annual event since 1983. *This year’s Portland Japanese Garden gate admissions were 1,869 on Saturday and 2,019 on Sunday. Hopefully, most of them visited our show, where 25 members exhibited, representing five schools in the Chapter. This is always an exquisite show, thanks largely to the fantastic range of color and variety in the mums.
The weather was warm—even hot—which no doubt accounted for the fact that attendance was even higher than last year’s.

Chapter Meeting (Workshop)
The topic of our first program meeting of the year was “Using Unconventional Containers.” Did that ever bring out the playfulness in our members! There was a bazaar teapot, a tipsy plate, a paper gift bag, a tall gourd, a red metal tool box—let your imagination go wild! Add to that the beauty of fall flowers, and you have the makings of a fun and highly creative workshop.
