Boston Chapter #17

Demonstration was given by Professor Ivy Le Maguer, Sokatoku (Senior Professor 1st Grade), Ikenobo Society of Floral Art, Kyoto, Japan.
For Le Maguer sensei, KADO “the Way of Flowers” is not only an artistic endeavor but also a way of living one’s life with humility, modesty, perseverance and respect for the nature and others through the creation of floral arrangements.
Professor Le Maguer demonstrated nine Ikenobo arrangements, including tatehana, rikka shofutai, rikka shimputai, shoka shofutai, shoka shimputai, and freestyle designs. The program was very well-received. The Professor provided an interesting, informative, and beautiful demonstration of Ikenobo practices.
