Seattle Chapter #19

The Northwest Flower & Garden Festival (NWFGF) was held February 9 – 13, 2022 at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle, WA. According to recommendations and guidelines of the CDC and the WA State Department of Health at that time, appropriate precautions and modifications were made to help ensure the safety of exhibitors, workers, and attendees at the event.
This was the first major “in person” event we participated in since the COVID-19 pandemic was acknowledged early March 2020. 17 members from our Chapter created a total of 19 beautiful ikebana arrangements including one floor arrangement. The beauty and variety of arrangements was appreciated by visitors who came to our exhibit area during the show, and the exhibit received many enthusiastic compliments.
During the 5-day event, 27 members and supporting family members took their time to work as hosting volunteers and provided information to visitors, which helped them better understand and appreciate our art and also discover opportunities for studying ikebana and viewing exhibitions in the greater Seattle area. We strongly believe such a wonderful exhibit and warm hospitality really helped spread our motto, “Friendship through Flowers”
