1/10/2024 Demonstration Sogetsu School
The greatness of any culture lies in its festivals!
On October 1st, 2024, there was a grand demonstration by Ms. Divya Ansal, a veteran teacher of the SOGETSU School. Her demo was titled “Festivity with Ikebana”. The program was held under the aegis of Sogestu School of Delhi at India International Centre. It was attended by all members of Delhi Ikebana International.
Divya beautifully crafted each festival with her skill to depict the individuality of each one of them. Her experience and her inventive and unique style mesmerized the audience! She depicted Ganesh festival, Lohri, Holi, Onam, Durga Puja, Krishna Ashtami and the famous Diwali, through amazing combinations of flowers and greens, each better than the other. A truly outstanding performance.
7/11/2024 Demonstration Ohara School
On 7th Nov 2024, Delhi Ikebana International invited OHRYU Rekha Reddy Sub Grandmaster, Ohara Ikebana from Hyderabad for a demonstration. The demonstration was held in Eros Hotel, Nehru Place.
The theme of the demonstration was Ikebana and Indian Epics.
She demonstrated Kandas of Ramayana like Aranya kanda, Uttara kanda, The Kurukshetra war, and the famous Satyavan, Savitri and Yamraj story.
The demonstration was scintillating, beautiful and held the audience spellbound.
The materials used vibrant colours of flowers and greens all seemed to be the part the storyline.
This was followed by a lavish spread enjoyed by one and all.
2/12/2024 Demonstration Sogestu School
On 2nd December 2024, Delhi Ikebana International had a demonstration by Ms. Yasuko Malhotra, a senior Sogestu teacher at Eros Hotel, Nehru Place.
As in the famous quote, ‘In character, in manner, in style, in all the things, the supreme excellence is simplicity.’ Yasuko Malhotra, a finely skilled Ikebana artist of the Sogetsu School depicted this simple quality in a spectacular manner.
She reused, recycled and reinvented, material in an innovative manner. Her demonstration was aptly titled “Reincarnation “.
The demonstration was inspiring and innovative and enjoyed by one and all.
