Ottawa Centennial Chapter # 120 Canada

Ottawa Centennial Chapter was the recipient of the Ambassador’s award in recognition of a long-time contribution in promoting Ikebana in Ottawa and the lasting friendship between Japan and Canada. Our Chapter was established in 1969 and the award marked our Chapter’s 55th anniversary.

His Excellency Kanji Yamanouchi, Ambassador of Japan to Canada, gave the award to Mrs. Anne Breau, President of our Chapter on 5 September 2024. (More details at https://www.ca.emb-japan.go.jp/itprtop_en/index.html.)

The reason the Government of Japan, through their Embassies around the world, consider Ikebana as an important entity in their diplomatic initiatives, take notice and assist with the promotion of the art of ikebana is a testimony to its level of importance in Japanese culture and history
