Sogetsu Demonstration　open to the public

At the first monthly meeting of the new fiscal year, TFC President Ms. Shimatani greeted the participants and introduced the new officers.

After that, Ms. Kosa Nishiyama, the Master Instructor of the Sogetsu Headquarters, gave a demonstration under the theme of “Feeling the Autumn Breeze”. Beginning a work using persimmons, which symbolize the harvest of autumn, the various works were arranged, such as a combination of chrysanthemums and Japanese spindle tree, dry materials in an iron vase, and a mixed arrangement of autumn flowers.

The demonstration concluded with the decorated plants and original objects in a large space composed of vines in the center of the stage.　Ms. Nishiyama, who was arranging works happily all through the demonstration, conveyed the charm of Ikebana and we truly had a wonderful moment.

At the end of the monthly meeting, Fair Coordinator Ms. Sato provided an explanation of the annual I.I. Fair to be held on December 10th.
