Toronto Chapter #208, Canada
The Annual Flower Show, open to the public
The Annual Flower Show at JCCC on September 15 was a remarkable success, featuring 46 Ikebana arrangements representing the three stages of learning: “Shu,” “Ha,” and “Ri.” Over 200 guests attended, eagerly watching the demonstrations that showcased both traditional and modern styles of arrangements.
The event included various engaging activities, such as a DIY table, a Grab& Go section, a bargaining Ginza table, a Relaxing Tea Room and a Members Tea Party. These activities fostered connections among members and deepened their shared passion for Ikebana.
We would like to extend special thanks to our three master Ikebana demonstrators for showcasing their arrangements:
-Ms. Sharon Koor (Ohara)
-Ms. Maina Choy (Sogetsu)
-Ms. Yuko Ichimori (Ikenobo) Version 2022/6
The success of this year’s Annual Show was made possible by our sponsor, Shiseido (Canada) Inc. We are deeply grateful for their generous and ongoing support.
We extend our gratitude to our sponsors, including OoMoMo, Ginza Sushi, King’s Pastry, and Yu Seafood Restaurant, along with organizations such as the Toronto Japanese Garden Club, Ikenobo Ikebana Society of Toronto, Sogetsu Toronto Branch, Ohara School of Ikebana-Toronto Chapter and our I.I. Toronto Chapter members for their generous support and donations.
Thanks were also given to the Show Committee, Board, and volunteers for their meticulous planning and execution, making the event a success. The I.I. Toronto Chapter encourages everyone to cherish the memories created and wishes them fulfillment in their Ikebana journeys.
