Arranging with paperbark from eucalyptus-tree

During our monthly meeting in Leverkusen Edelgard Herwald in May, a member of the Sogetsu School came all the way from Australia to show our members how to build a sculpture covered with paperbark from eucalyptus-tree.

With a lot of patience and skills very unique forms arose. We were amazed how much fun it was to play with the patterns of the woodgrain. Some used the bark as part of the arrangement, some used just the sculptures and flower material, and some used the forms in addition to ceramic containers as compound forms.

The results are fascinating. This was again an inspiring and cheerful afternoon shared by Ikebana friends.
