Demonstration Exhibition　 Open to the Public

The Ambassador, Mr. Shigero Ushio, requested our Chapter in Pretoria to partake in Japan Festival, organized by the Embassy.

The management organized tables for arrangements to be on display in the walkways of the mall.　All 22 chapter members made between one and three arrangements each, mostly trying to make use of plant material from their gardens.

There were ongoing exhibitions of various things of Japan and our members got an hour slot every morning to do a demonstration of their school.
Sophie Dooley from the Johannesburg Chapter gave an Ikenobo demonstration on the 20th of September.

On the following day the Ohara demonstration was given by Arno Vosloo and Elfriede Retter. Carol Fiorentino did a Sogetsu demonstration on the last day of the festival.

The visitors were very interested in the demonstrations. All the chairs were occupied and many shoppers stood and watched, asking questions and taking photos!
