Chapter Meeting

On the 19th of September, 2024, we had the honor to have Mrs. Amy Rule, spouse to the US Ambassador to Japan, Rahm Emanuel as our guest speaker.

Mrs. Rule talked about her work in Chicago when her husband was the Mayor of the city. We learned that the city of Chicago is a sister city of Osaka. Back then they had no idea how Japan would influence their lives and that they would actually live in Japan.

Mrs. Rule loves to do some crafts like clay bonsai, and also she enjoys eating lots of different Japanese foods, including natto.

Her time in Japan is coming to an end, but she will treasure all the friendships she’s made here, she’ll miss the kindness of the Japanese people and all the amazing food that she’s been able to taste.

Her most memorable experience has been the New Years tradition of meeting with the Emperor and Empress of Japan.
