Visit to Raast School

Ikebana International Karachi Chapter celebrated Independence Day of Pakistan at Raast School on August 19th in lieu of 14th August.

Raast School was built for the underprivileged children whose parents cannot afford to pay school fees. It provides them proper opportunities to study better. According to the principal, their aim is to give them a vocational training and promising future. The school is co-educational up to grade 10.

There were 50 girl students and they were given clay pots with beautiful foliage and flowers by Ikebana Board Members. Young budding students were extremely proud and grateful for having this activity in their school. All Ikebana members were dressed in national colors just as the flower arrangements. The program ended with singing national songs and thank you notes from both sides. We are very proud to have such a meaningful activity and program.
