Netherlands Chapter #215, The Netherlands Exhibition on the occasion of the chapter’s 40th anniversary

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of our chapter an exhibition was organised in cooperation with four Ikebana schools that are present in the Netherlands: Sogetsu, Ikenobo, Ohara and Ichiyo.

The exhibition was held in the venue, “Huis van Eemnes”, the regular meeting place for our chapter. It has a beautiful large exhibition hall with black backdrops and good lighting.

We were very honoured that the Ambassador from Japan to the Netherlands, H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Minami, accompanied by Mrs. Minami, was present at the opening. The cultural representative of the local authority was also present. Our board presented a small Sogetsu arrangement to Mrs. Minami at the opening ceremony.

After the opening the special guests were guided through the various arrangements by the presidents of the four Ikebana schools.

During the two-day event various demonstrations were given by the artists and attended by many spectators. We welcomed a large number of visitors on both days and now we look back on the very successful exhibition.
