Detroit Chapter #85

On May 8, 2023 our chapter members, Jan Berger-Cohn, Liz Cheslock, Marcia Geibel and Mary Ann Slazinski shared Ikebana basics with visitors to the Annual Belle Isle Koi Festival in Detroit, MI.

Members raced back and forth explaining Ikebana and providing visitors with materials for a “make and take” arrangement. Many young and old enjoyed learning about Ikebana. Our chapter members had a great time sharing Ikebana with the public. Over 100 arrangements were created in two hours. In addition, our member, Cheryl Linck created a beautiful Ikenobo arrangement to display inside the Belle Isle Aquarium. Ikebana was the highlight of the festival day.
