Kamakura Chapter #51 Japan

21 November, 2024　 Chapter Meeting
Our chapter was cordially invited to the official residence of the Ambassador of the United States to Japan, by his spouse, Mrs. Amy Rule.
We had two very special demonstrators from our very own chapter, Mrs. Noriyo Nagasaki (Kozan School) and Mrs. Yuko Sasaya (Sogetsu School). They both created four fabulous centerpieces.
After the demonstrations, we enjoyed tea, coffee and a variety of sweets and appetizers. Our members and guests were able to take pictures and had a great time together.
Three of the flower arrangements created during the demonstrations were gifted to the Residence with the containers they had provided. In addition, Mrs. Rumi Noguchi and her helper, Mrs. Hiroko Ando, made a spectacular entrance arrangement.
It has been ten years since Kamakura Chapter members visited the official residence last time .

Demonstration Koryu Katabami School
We held the December Meeting, Ikebana demonstration, Bento lunch and a bazaar at Kakuonji Temple, Kamakura. There were beautiful autumn leaves. This was the first time trial, “Welcome Music (with piano played by a board member)”. We rented a guest house, an old traditional Japanese house.
Mr. Rikou OTSUKA (Vice Headmaster) made arrangements including large one. His idea and demonstration were amazing.

25 Jan, 2025　　Chapter Meeting
Our January Chapter Meeting was held at the Noh Theater in Kamakura.
We had a brief demonstration of some of the songs and performances during an actual live performance. The actors also showed us the traditional customs and some of the masks that they use, with time for questions and answers.
Since this was our annual family day, we had several members with their spouses and children.
It was a fun and educational experience that piqued our interest.
