Ikebana International 13th World Convention Start Up Committee Chair Nobuko Usui

Though even after three years, the COVID-19 pandemic is not yet over, we have learned how to protect ourselves.
An important lesson gained from the COVID-19 pandemic is that people need culture and social interactions for a happy and joyful life.

Members from all over the world sent Headquarters encouraging messages about the next convention with their greetings. We appreciate that very much.

The International Board of Directors has decided to hold the Ikebana International 13th World Convention on the end of April, 2025.
We have chosen Kyoto, the place where ikebana originated, as the location of the Ikebana International 13th World Convention.
The venue will be the Kyoto International Conference Center.

Even now, some members have pleasant memories of the Ikebana International 5th World Convention that was held at the venue in 1986. Since then, the Kyoto International Conference Center has been renovated, and a subway line has been connected to it, so staying there is even more comfortable than it was in 1986.

We are looking forward to seeing many Ikebana International members in Kyoto, 2025.
